CAMPIONATO |

Nel 1961 venne organizzato il primo campionato di calcio della Rhodesia e del Nyasaland, che comprendevano i territori di Nyasaland, Rhodesia del Nord e Rhodesia del Sud (rispettivamente gli attuali Malawi, Zambia e Zimbabwe). La competizione, denominata “Professional Rhodesia and Nyasaland Football League”, prese il via il 9 aprile 1961 e vide anche la partecipazione di un club sudafricano (Durban City). Le altre squadre partecipanti erano: Salisbury XI (composta da giocatori di Salisbury City e Salisbury United), Nyasa United, City of Salisbury, Bulawayo XI (Bulawayo City e Bulawayo United), City of Lusaka, Salisbury United. Il match inaugurale si tenne allo Scrivener Stadium di Kitwe, ma la competizione non venne portata a termine, a causa del ritiro di alcune squadre. |
